This site is under development with an unstable development version of Drupal 7 for testing purposes.
After upgrading the operating system on my MacBook to OS X Snow Leopard I noticed that the Drupal 7 CSS style .element-invisible is no longer being recognized correctly.
** Update 2010-02-18 ***
I have filed a bug about this issue in the Drupal issue queue: system class: .element-invisible does not work with VoiceOver on OS X Snow Leopard.
*** End update ***
Elements styled with .element-invisible should be invisible to all but screen-reader users, and those browsing the web with CSS disabled in their browsers.
With Leopard this worked without a problem I have tested on Snow Leopard and although VoiceOver might identify that an element exists, for example speaking the word "heading", it doesn't speak the text in the element.
If you use VoiceOver please take the time to test the following samples and leave a comment explaining the results and what version of OS X and Safari you are using. E.g. 10.6.2 and 4.0.4.
After this sentence there should be a level 3 heading that is visible to everyone.
After this sentence there should be a level 3 heading visible only to screen-reader users.
Please leave a comment letting me know if the above heading contained any text, or if you found a heading at all.
Thank you for your contribution to improving the accessibility of the Drupal content management system.
